A working group has finally been created to address the situation with the Rapa Nui people on Easter Island. According to La Nación, the Subsecretary for Regional Development will be the coordinator of the group. Additional members will include representatives from the Ministries of Planning and National Assets, a representative of the Valparaíso regional government, and a consultant on indigenous issues from the office of the Secretary General of the Presidency. Seven council members, as well as 4 members of the Island Development Commission and the mayor Luz Zasso will represent the islanders.
