Mapuche Community of Julio Marin Acquires More Than 225 Hectares of Land
At the end of October, the Mapuche community of Julio Marin – located in the Araucanía Region – acquired more than 225 hectares (555 acres) of land. The land was purchased and given to the Community by CONADI (the Chilean government’s Indigenous development corporation). The people of Julio Marin had been working to acquire their land for more than eighteen years. Continue reading
